Klondike Grand Prix
2nd April 2017
Guisborough High Street
Distance: 95 miles
The Klondike Grand Prix, a new Elite Race on a new Circuit and the opening round of the HSBC Spring Cup!
Sponsored by “Big Local” a lottery funded group to develop the area of East Cleveland.
All the biggest teams and riders will descend upon Guisborough on the 2nd April for what will become an early season classic. The circuit is a tough one! There are 3 significant hills on each of the 3 main laps. They are short and sharp making it a course for a strong rider who can climb well but has the legs to keep it going in the tough side winds over the top.
The race will depart from the Market Place at 12:00 and rollout past Gisborough Hall. The flag will drop as we turn right to Margrove Park and the racing will start immediately. We join the main circuit at Boosebeck, it’s a 25 mile circuit and we’ll complete 3 laps. We then complete a shorter lap before returning to Guisborough for the nail biting finish!
The finish line will be at Westgate Guisborough in front of Sunnyfield House where huge crowds will gather to enjoy the excitement. A great race for Elite riders to take part in and for the crowds to enjoy.
