Velo29 are delighted to work with the Daisy Chain Foundation for a 3rd year to bring you this awesome Festive 50 event! The perfect reason/ excuse to get on your bike over the Christmas period, burn off some calories, try out the new kit you got for Christmas and best of all, support the brilliant work the Daisy Chain do. As with many charities, there has never been a more needy time than now!
Every penny we generate goes to the Charity with Staff working for free. The past 2 year’s have generated a total of £5,000 as well as the additional generous contributions made by you riders. Some of you donate £2 for every Strava segment you beat for example!
A forced move to the brilliant Guisborough HQ which was much enjoyed at the White Horse this year gives us new and exciting route options. For the first time in a Velo29 Sportive we head East to the Coast of Saltburn, an area we’ve always wanted to take in. We drop down to the beach, no time for ice cream though as it’s uphill for 10 miles after that!
Some new hills which are beautiful in the moors even this time of year, it can be fresh on the tops so dress correctly.
Whilst the dubbed short route isn’t really short we’ve offered it to avoid the 25% Clay Bank side road climb and also the long drag to the back of Carlton Bank.
