The Monday before the sportive at 6pm, you will receive a ‘Get Ready’ email which contains information about the sportive.
On Tuesday at 10am, you will receive an ‘Act Now’ email which contains the links you need to obtain your rider number and booking reference in order to complete the Pre-Event Questionnaire and Book a Time Slot.
Booking opens from 10am Tuesday until 18:00 Thursday. This is ESSENTIAL to ride.
It is vitally important that you remain subscribed to our emails. However, copies will also be uploaded to our FB page which you do not need a FB account to access.
No entries on the day.
Entries close on Sunday night 1 week before the event.

The 161 is the not so little brother of the 262 event. Still a HUGE challenge at 100 miles and for many the longest ride of the year.
Many of you roll over the line delighted to have done your first 100 mile ride or perhaps your fastest ever 100!
It will be a mid-year spike in your Strava Data!
Some changes for 2024 make this an exciting “out and back” route. You can push on and turn at any point. Feeling good? Crack on a few more miles before turning! Had enough? Just U-Turn and head home!
We added the 161 route to make the day more accessible to more riders. Like the 262 it’s as flat a course as it can be, of course as with all Velo29 routes it’s by no means a bore, we’ve choiced together the most enjoyable and senic route.
Depart York Auction site at 06:30, enjoy 3 feed stops on the way along with the awesome Velo29 support. If you don’t make it we are here to scoop you up and ferry you back home.
A 161 specific medal will be awarded to all the finishers back at the HQ as well as your hot post ride snack and Erdinger Alcohol free beer, chilled!
