Take to the start line on one of the World’s most famous pieces of tarmac and ride a massed start lap of the amazing International Circuit. A Sportive opening you’ll never forget!
Just over 100 miles and a sensible 1,636m of vert make this one of the less hilly long routes in our series which is by design. Silverstone Long is intended to be a memorable day in the saddle without hunting out every berg! That said the course profile is a jagged shark’s tooth, up and down all the way… who wants to spend all day sat down anyway!
We have thrown in a bit of a curve ball for you though. Burton Dassett Country Park does offer you a “proper hill”. Notably, it’s been used as a hilltop finish in the Male and Female Tour of Britain, more than once!
As with the short and medium, we’ve found the quietest roads, the best little villages and some stunning scenery.
3 awesome Velo29 feed stops, all at Moreton Pinkney Village Hall. The first stop at 40km is a Breakfast Feed, we visit a 2nd time for our well know FULL FAT Feed at 93km and then again a 3rd stop, also FULL FAT! Here you’ll find fresh pies and sausage rolls, sandwiches, as much High5 as you can fit in your pockets and the now famous Brownie and a brew! We are from Yorkshire after all!
Another 32km after the feed, don’t eat too much, there are some lumps! Back to Silverstone for our BBQ sausage, an awesome medal and a chilled can of Erdinger Alkoholfrei!
