The short route leaves Thirsk and heads across to Kilburn with the medium and long route riders. It’s a slight uphill drag for the first 10k though you don’t really notice it, the roads are small, quiet and picturesque from the start.
All the routes stay together past the amazing Byland Abbey and through the gorgeous villages Wass and Ampleforth. Ampleforth Abbey will be on your right as you pass with stunning views of the Howdrian Hills beyond. A new section has been added with the short continuing with the other routes all the way to Nunnington where you will spilt and head to the feed at Hovingham.
All routes back together after the feed for the run in to Thirsk with great views of the White Horse.
