La Roue Short is a lovely 46.5km loop in a clockwise direction heading out of Cheshire and into North Wales. More than half the route is in Wales, you’ll love the twisting and turning of the gorgeous lanes as we head through the villages of Dolleston and Lavister as we head towards the feed stop at Gresford. As always you’ll find a wonderful selection of fresh Sarnies, Pork Pies, Sausage Rolls, our Famous Brownies and recently changed (for the better) Flapjack! A hot brew and as much High5 as you can handle too!

The route to Gresford is pretty gentle, not really a hill insight however from the feed stop back to Cheshire we encounter Hope Mountain! Just over 300m high with a few switchback turns, it’s an exciting climb! The views at the top of Waun-Y-Llyn Country Park are stunning, so worth the effort!

If Hope Mountian isn’t for you then select the Short Sport Route which makes a short diversion as we apprach the climb. You can just decise on the day if you want. Many of you pushed up the hill in 2024. No shame in that, it’s a tough walk too!

From the top of Hope Mountain it’s a technical descent towards Pontlyddyn and back to Cheshire to receive a great medal, a Hot BBQ Sausage bun and a chilled can of Erdinger Alkoholfrei.
