Cycling Trips

Contact

Velo29 organise a number of exciting cycling trips each year, which are becoming increasingly popular. Typically, a group of around 10 – 20 riders join us on these trips. The atmosphere is always amazing; we have exciting rides in wonderful places, we support you with our knowledge of the roads, and we look after you with our follow-along mechanic/recovery van.

Everyone always gets along brilliantly; we book nice accommodation, we travel together and eat together. Most people do 1 trip, then join us for all our future trips!

We try to make the trips good value and as diverse as possible. We’ve had E-bikes, recreational riders, some more performance-focused riders and mostly riders who ride our medium and long route Sportive.

We always transport the bikes; for the UK and Northern Europe trips, we transport the riders too. For the more distant trips, we take the bikes and meet you there.

Space is always limited; we ask for a deposit to secure your place and then payment in full around a month before we travel. If you’re keen to get involved, email richard.williamson@velo29.com for more details.

2 iconic classics and some amazing riding!

We jump on the Hull – Rotterdam overnight ferry on Saturday 18th; Sunday morning is a quick blast across the Netherlands, dive on the bikes and spend the afternoon watching the amazing Amstel Gold Race. In 2026 we saw the race 4 times!

Monday and Tuesday we take in some wonderful riding around one of Europe’s best cycling areas. Loads of bergs, stunning roads and some iconic bits of road form the 2 races.

Wednesday we head to watch Fleche Wallonne, a chance to ride again if desired. The atmosphere at the roadside on both these races is superb! We are back on the ferry Wednesday night, getting into Hull around 9am Thursday.

Accommodation is a great barn loft conversion; it’s open plan with twin sleeping pods. Modern and comfortable, really well situated for the races.

A rare opportunity to ride and watch the world’s biggest race on home soil!

We meet in Edinburgh Thursday evening; we’ve got accommodation in the City booked. The place will be buzzing with the start of this amazing occasion; we’ll soak it all up, watch the start and then ride some of the route heading towards Carlise.

We stay in Carlise Friday evening and again watch the start of stage 2, then ride a section of the route heading South to Liverpool.

Saturday we’ve booked accommodation near Welshpool; we’ll ride out and watch a mid-point of the race and head home from there.

Each day there are options to ride as far as desired and then jump in the following van; you can, of course, ride the entire stage!
