We feel the medium at 102km/ 66 miles is a real peach. You get a big slice of the TDF route, including Côte de Jubilee Tower, Côte de Trough of Bowland and Côte de Waddington Fell! The bragging rights on Monday morning will be HUGE, and when sat watching the TDF in July you’ll see the riders taking in all the climbs, compare the Strava times and remember your efforts on these challenging hills!
The ride out to Lancaster to pick up the TDF route is quite flat; we are soon out of Preston and onto some better roads. Feed stop 1 is a breakfast stop; take on fuel for the hills ahead! We’ve got 20 tough miles taking in all those soon-to-be infamous climbs! There are a few climbs not mentioned in the TDF route too. This medium route has 5 cat 5, 1 cat 4 and 3 cat 3 climbs in total!
By the time you reach feed stop 2, a lot of the hard work is done; you’ll be ready for our great feed treats and then the last 30km to Preston and an awesome finisher’s medal.
