The Monday before the sportive at 6pm, you will receive a ‘Get Ready’ email which contains information about the sportive.

On Tuesday at 10am, you will receive an ‘Act Now’ email which contains the links you need to obtain your rider number and booking reference in order to complete the Pre-Event Questionnaire and Book a Time Slot.

Booking opens from 10am Tuesday until 18:00 Thursday. This is ESSENTIAL to ride.

It is vitally important that you remain subscribed to our emails. However, copies will also be uploaded to our FB page which you do not need a FB account to access.

No entries on the day.

At 48.5km/ 30 miles with 1 feed stop and 1 hill, the short is an accessible ride to all. The 1 climb of note is Jeffrey Hill via Rock Brow; it’s a 3rd cat climb on climbfinder.com, 2.8km long with an average of 6%. We’d call it a proper hill, but I don’t suppose the TDF riders would break a sweat!

We reach the high point of the ride 283m after 28km; from there on, it’s a gentle downhill all the way back to Preston and an awesome medal!

Despite only covering a small part of the official TDF route, you’ll still have all the excitement that the Tour brings. Riding with a huge number of riders on these awesome roads is going to be something really special.

We had a TDF Grand Depart in Yorkshire in 2014 and cycling hit a huge boom after that, don’t miss out on this once in 20 years’ experience!
