Sportive X is Velo29’s awesome off-road Sportive! Started back in 2017 and run successfully until 2019, it’s an amazing combination of gravel trail, fire roads and disused railway lines making up 7 long route and 4 short route off-road sectors.
It’s designed to be suitable for gravel bikes, cross bikes, MTB and a sturdy hybrid machine. Only very small parts are not rideable, it’s not the most technical ride in the World. More a wonderful day out, a chance to see North Yorks Moors at their best and of course, a bit of a challenge! All those off-road KMs aren’t easy!
We’ve got check points at each sector which serve as nutrition points too. The routes are signed but due to the nature of the terrain, we don’t get as many route signs out as on a road Sportive, so GPS navigation is very firmly encouraged.
Even when on-road, we take in some wonderful parts of North Yorkshire, some roads I’m sure most of you will have never been down!
