The FEMME Sportive medium route is a real delight! We’ve not gone in search of huge mountains, there are some lumps but this is all about a great day on the bike rather than the ultimate test! We follow the same route as the short does to the breakfast feed at Thornton Watlass Village Hall. After the feed, we head gradually upwards to the high point after 50km! We reach 250m above sea level bang on 50km, the good news is it’s mostly downwards after here! Leyburn is always a lovely point on the route, a delightful and should you wish speedy run into Thornton Watlass Feed for the 2nd stop, this time a FULL Feed! Sarnies, brownies from Pocklington, Pies and Sausage Rolls from Kippax and as much High 5 as you can eat! Also, a brew which of course comes from Yorkshire!
The end is in sight now, 1 big lump, a down hill then flat lands back to Carlton Lodge and your well-earned medal!
